Atlanta Graduate Honored as the 2017 Business Man of the Year

The Atlanta Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, AGLCC, promotes the economic growth and advancement of Atlanta LGBT and allied business members, organizational members as well as their corporate partners and their employees by way of advocacy, leadership, education and support. The AGLCC has worked diligently with the National Chamber to promote business for their members.
Each year, the AGLCC recognizes outstanding members for leadership and level of engagement within the Atlanta community. On Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Westin Buckhead Atlanta, alumnus Carlton Brown (2011, Culinary Arts Management, BS), was awarded the 2017 Business Man of the Year. “It was such an honor to have been nominated and chosen by such a wonderful group of peers, for the outstanding award of 2017 Business Man of the Year by the AGLCC. I am humbled beyond words,” stated Brown.
Brown’s company, Occasional Occasions by Carlton, was founded in 1994. His boutique-style catering company specializes in contemporary southern cuisine. As the Chef and Owner of the company, he has taken his business to new heights in providing catering and private chef services to distinguished clientele including Former Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young, Reverend Jesse Jackson, and the late Mrs. Coretta Scott King. Referred to as one of the top 10 Atlanta Caterers, Carlton has also provided services to corporate conglomerates such as American Express, Wells Fargo, Georgia Pacific, Georgia Power, Hewlett Packard, and Fed-Ex.
