Graduates of The Art Institute of Atlanta Launch Pirani Party Tumbler, The Sustainable Party Cup

Redefining the iconic red party cup that can be found at BBQ’s and college dorms across the U.S., South Florida startup Pirani Life is taking aim at single-use plastic cups with the Pirani Party Tumbler. The Pirani Party Tumbler is designed by two graduates of The Art Institute of Atlanta, Bandgee Pierce (2010 Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design graduate) and Danielle Del Sordo (2008 Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design and 2013 Master of Arts in Design and Media Management graduate).

Now available on Kickstarter starting at $12 for early backers, the reusable tumbler comes in a variety of fun colors and with an air-tight lid designed to keep all party drinks cold. “Growing up in South Florida, and living an active outdoor lifestyle, we grew tired of seeing plastic litter scattered across our beautiful beaches and oceans,” said Pierce who is the founder/designer of Pirani Party Tumbler. “I knew there had to be a way to keep drinks cold longer but also retain the iconic party cup feel and put a stop to the billions of single use plastic cups that are tossed every year. The Pirani Party Tumbler is the last Solo cup you’ll ever need.”

According to the company, the cup features the same double walled, vacuum-insulated technology used in high-end brands like YETI and Hydro Flask to keep drinks hot or cold but comes in a party-friendly format that’s easy and light enough to throw in your bag and go. The first reusable cup with a rolled lip for smooth drinking, this 16 oz. party tumbler features BPA-free 18/8 stainless steel to keep drinks cold up to 12 hours and hot up to 6 hours, along with a powder coating for an indestructible surface. Each Pirani Party Tumbler has the standard pour measurements of the original Solo cup, comes with a secure lid and will be available in Poseidon (blue), Margarita (lime) and Red Solo for Kickstarter backers.

Single use plastic contributes 6.3 billion metric tons of waste each year and only 9% of that has been recycled.
