Faculty Author, Dr. Courtney Hammonds: “Prescriptions of Style: The Definitive Style Guide for the Everyday Man”
July 24, 2014
“Prescriptions of Style: The Definitive Style Guide for the Everyday Man,” written by Dr. Courtney Hammonds of The Art Institute of Atlanta, is a contemporary style guidebook that develops understanding of basic wardrobe principles from a real- life point of view.
With countless other men’s style guide books on the market already, why another one? This book develops understanding of basic wardrobe principles from a real-life point of view. Many men’s style/wardrobe books are “cookbook” style telling you what to do but not always why or how it works. These examples are valuable, but often do not produce a level of understanding that can truly make someone better acclimated to the necessary tools and knowledge of menswear. This book contains examples and guidelines, but the main goal is to present the fundamental principles for the Everyday Man.
On June 12, 2014, family, friends and fans gathered at Mezlan, a men’s footwear store in Atlanta, to celebrate the book’s release. Dr. Hammonds also committed to donate a portion of the proceeds from his sales to help young men, of lesser means, to get in style, by providing them with their own pair of Mezlan footwear.
Courtney's book is available on Amazon.
