Students Create Truffle Recipes for Chance to Win Culinary Trip to Italy
November 13, 2015
Università dei Sapori, The Art Institutes system of schools’ partner school in Italy, has developed a culinary contest in partnership with Urbani Tartufi, the world leader in truffle products, that invites Art Institutes students to create their best truffle recipes for the opportunity to participate in an immersive culinary experience in Italy. The competition is open to all culinary students from The Art Institutes and Università dei Sapori’s other partner culinary school, Kendall College in Chicago. The competition challenges teams of two students to create the best original dishes based on truffle, including a Chef's tasting and a main course. Truffle products will be provided by Urbani USA to allow students to practice their dishes.
The top seven teams will be awarded grants to participate in a 10-day course on Italian cuisine held at Università dei Sapori, with a special focus on learning about cooking with truffle. The top teams will also receive complimentary accommodations and a Truffle Experience at Urbani Tartufi. During the training in Italy, students will be asked to recreate their winning dishes during a special event. A jury of chefs and professionals from different regions of Italy will select the three winning teams, awarding them with a first, second and third prize. In addition, the winning recipe will be considered for development as a new Urbani Tartufi product and will feature the creators’ names and culinary institution.
