The Art Institute of Atlanta Hosts Olympians for Georgia Track Club Reception

WHAT:
The Art Institute of Atlanta will host the Georgia Track Club’s Rio 2016 Summer Olympic Games Champions Launch Reception, an event that will serve as a fundraiser and opportunity to introduce the 2016 roster of Georgia Track Club (GTC) athletes to the community. The event will include raffles, a silent auction, swag giveaways, autograph signing, an Olympic memorabilia display, and photo opportunities with team GTC and local Olympic stars.

WHO:
Atlanta City Councilman Kwanza Hall will be the ambassador for the event and will present proclamations and awards to GTC athletes, on behalf of the City of Atlanta. 

GTC Athletes in attendance will include: Alphonso Jordan, Olympic Hopeful/USA Team Member; Maya Pressley, Olympic Hopeful/USA Team Member; Reese Hoffa, Olympic Bronze Medalist/World Champion; Jarryd Wallace, World Champion/Paraolympian; Angelo Taylor, Olympic Gold Medalist; and Chris Brown, Olympic Gold Medalist. 

Local Olympic stars in attendance will include: Hazel Clark, three-time Olympian, two Olympic Trials Champion and seven-time National Champion; Dwight Phillips, Olympic Gold Medalist; Terrence Trammell, Olympic Silver Medalist and American record holder; and Kevin Young, Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion.

The mission of the GTC is to support Georgia's elite athletes and the communities that help them reach their dreams. GTC athletes have over 45 combined Olympic medals and won a higher medal count at the 2012 games than all but six countries.
