On Tuesday, April 25th, The Art Institute of Austin, a branch of campus of The Art Institute of Houston, welcomed Divine Canines to our campus. The Divine Canines organization believes that every dog can be a source of healing and motivation and uses pet therapy to encourage smiles and emotional wellness.

Event organizer, Tim Prata, Assistant Director of Residential Life and Housing, had this to say about the event - “I love bringing Divine Canines on campus, especially right before midterms, because interacting with the dogs is one of their favorite ways to unwind. To me, not many things are better than being surrounded by loveable dogs and that can be seen by the laughter and smiles on the students’ faces. The Divine Canines group is fantastic in that they have incredibly professional dog-and-handler teams that hand out their own ‘dog trading cards’ with their bios! Today we had seven teams that ranged from a Dachshund/Spaniel mix named Happy to a Great Pyrenees named Sam! I love giving back to the students and if I can include dogs, I’ll do it!”
