As the first place winner in the high school senior category, Lee’s design will be entered into the national stage of the competition, in which he will compete against other local winners in the high school senior category from across North America for up to a full tuition scholarship to an Art Institutes school. As the first place winner in the high school graduate category, Rice will be entered into the national stage of the competition in the high school graduate category and compete with other local first place winners for a $10,000 tuition scholarship to an Art Institutes school.

The tenth annual competition was open to graduating high school seniors and high school graduates interested in pursuing a creative education. Students submitted an original poster design representing the competition theme – You Can Create Tomorrow, a current high school transcript and a designer statement. In May, a panel of industry professionals selected by The Art Institutes schools will assess each local winner’s poster design based on the specified criteria.

“The students who entered this competition showed an impressive level of talent and dedication,” said Newton Myvett, president of The Art Institute of Charleston. “I am confident that the talent and drive these individuals possess will propel them to create tomorrow.”
