Students Show Designs at Charleston Fashion Week

It’s a big year for fashion in Charleston and the Fashion department at The Art Institute of Charleston, a branch of the Art Institute of Atlanta.  With the Bachelor in Fine Arts in Fashion Design program only a year old, Fashion Design students presented their original designs at Charleston Fashion Week for the first time this year. Students in the Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Marketing & Management program have assisted behind the scenes and The Art Institute of Charleston has been a major sponsor of Charleston Fashion Week since its founding in 2007. With the city of Charleston as their inspiration, the students partnered with a local sweetgrass basket sewer Lynette Youson to create their unique looks, which walked the runway on March 19.
