The Art Institute of Charleston, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, is pleased to announce that it has received the honor of, and was selected as, a Military Friendly School by G.I. Jobs Magazine. The selected schools now appear on the 2014 list of Military Friendly Schools®, a list of the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools doing the most to embrace America’s veterans as students.

“The Art Institute of Charleston is honored to be recognized as an institution of higher education that provides the necessary support to our veterans and enlisted members as they continue planning and working towards their futures,” said Todd Cunningham, president of The Art Institute of Charleston.  “As educators, it is our duty to ensure we joyously give back to those who have done so much for our country.”

The Art Institute of Charleston is uniquely suited to serve the needs of members of our nation’s military. The broad array of programs provide active duty service members, reservists, veterans, military spouses and families the quality, flexibility and convenience they seek through courses both on campus and online.

The list was compiled through exhaustive research conducted with more than 17,000 schools nationwide via a data driven survey administered by Victory Media, a veteran-owned business and publisher of G.I. Jobs and the Guide to Military Friendly Schools®. The survey weighting, methodology, and resulting schools list is independently certified by Ernst and Young.

Criteria for making the Military Friendly Schools ® list included efforts to recruit and retain military and veteran students, results in recruiting military and veteran students, and academic accreditations. Schools on the list also offer additional benefits to student veterans including on-campus veteran programs, credit for service, military spouse programs and more.
