The Art Institute of Charleston’s Marjory Wentworth Interviewed by PBS
June 30, 2016
Marjory Wentworth, Poet Laureate of South Carolina and faculty member at The Art Institute of Charleston, a branch of The Art Institute of Atlanta, has been in the media spotlight for her poetry and new book, “We are Charleston: Tragedy and Triumph at Mother Emanuel.” The book was written in collaboration with Herb Frazier and Bernard Edward Powers Jr., Ph.D.
The local PBS channel talked with Wentworth for a segment on the “PBS News Hour.” The PBC video team was in Charleston to film a story on poetry and art related to news stories—including the mass murder that took place at Charleston’s Mother Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
Wentworth also was filmed at a poetry reading that took place at the Holy City Art Show.
“We are Charleston: Tragedy and Triumph at Mother Emanuel” will be available for purchase after June 14, 2016.
