Creates Digital Designs, Email Campaigns, Branding for Hotel Properties

Braxton Crim is the art director for Dewberry Capital and The Dewberry Hotel. He’s responsible for creating all digital designs including website promotions, web advertisements, logos, and any other digital design aesthetics needed by the company. He also designs email campaigns and social media graphics, oversees branding for hotel properties, works from creative briefs to produce compelling sales materials for hotel team, identifies and hires specialists to work on projects and partnerships, and works with the director of brand develop to produce photography, video shoots, and illustrations.

He began his career as the promotions designer at Garden & Gun Magazine. “I created collateral designs for many magazine events, branded the ‘Made in the South’ awards, created many web and print (in-book) advertisements, and designed media kits, presentations, and sell sheets. I then made the transition to assistant art director where I worked closely with the art director.” In that position, Braxton assisted with magazine layout, production, and the digital edition.  “After being promoted to associate art director, I became solely responsible for the design of the digital edition as well as the department sections of the magazine.”

In his current role, Braxton works closely with the director of brand development on different projects including branding, web/digital design, and marketing/sales materials. He encourages students to prepare themselves for the fast-paced design world—encouraging them to slow down and trust the process. ”I'm constantly faced with many obstacles and challenges but in order to solve them, I make sure I have a plan of attack and then execute to the best of my abilities without getting discouraged or worried.”

Braxton, who in 2010 earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Charleston, says he’s excited to be making the world more beautiful while helping businesses to thrive. “I position myself around as much inspiration as possible as well as other creative people. My first nomination for a Society of Publication Design award was one of the proudest moments of my career. I was placed among some of the most distinguished designers in the world which pushed me to become a better designer.”
