Scholarship Winner of the Careers Through Culinary Arts Program® Competition Announced

Kiera Dawson was named the first-place winner of the Careers Through Culinary Arts Program® (“CCAP”) 2018 Cooking Competition held on April 18th. Kiera, a student at IC Norman High School from Portsmouth, Virginia, participated in a preliminary competition in February and earned her spot in the CCAP competition held in April.
As one of 10 competitors, Kiera had just two hours to prepare two crepe dishes with sauce and two chicken dishes with mushroom sauce and Tourne potatoes. As top winner, Kiera was awarded a full tuition scholarship to be used towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Culinary Management at The Art Institute of Charlotte.
The Art Institute of Charlotte Campus Director Sharon Clay was gratified to learn of Kiera’s win. “Congratulations to Kiera Dawson! She is a fine example of talent meeting opportunity. We look forward to having her in our culinary program, where she can work to enhance her demonstrated skills and talent,” stated Director Clay. Kiera is slated to begin the Bachelor of Science in Culinary Management program this July.
