(Charlotte, NC May 2015)   Bret Terry, a student in the Associate of Applied Science Graphic Design Program at The Art Institute of Charlotte, a campus of South University, has made the final jury of Art Olympia 2015, in Tokyo, Japan.  Mr. Terry spent over 260 hours on an illustration of a Mercedes dashboard; complete with gleaming chrome and detailed burl wood veneer.

“Art Olympia is an open art competition held as a biennial event with the goal of discovering talented artists around the world and supporting their activities. The judging will be conducted by a panel of judges from both in and outside of Japan using a fair point system. Also, Art Olympia aims to promote world’s cultural exchanges through art.”     (Art Olympia 2015)

Approximately 240 artists had entries submitted for review from 3 international groups, Tokyo, New York and Paris. Mr. Terry’s entry was selected from the New York group, where he made it to the final 80 selections of over 270 works of art. His work was shipped to Tokyo for the final Jury selections.
