Chicago Fashion Students’ Creativity Showcased in Spring Fashion Show

On May 4, 2017 fashion students from The Illinois Institute of Art— Chicago showcased their creations on the runway for the school’s spring fashion show. The event, held each year, represents the effort and creativity of the school’s fashion students, alumni, and faculty.
This year’s show featured the work of student designers—including more than 120 garments ranging from formal wear to casual summer looks including swim, contemporary ready-to-wear and theatrical costume design. All parts of the show, from marketing to décor and promotion of the runway collections, was executed from start to finish by students and faculty members
The show was hosted by Laurie Underwood, a Project Runway designer who earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design (2006) and a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Marketing & Management (2003). Underwood recently launched her fashion line, Wanda Grace and her new bridal line, LauryElle.
