July 25, 2016
The Illinois Institute of Art—Chicago recently partnered with The Center on Halsted to feed and assist seniors during the Chicago’s Pride Week. The partnership provided Chicago’s senior LGBT community with food and a comfortable spot along the 47th Annual Gay Pride Parade route on Halsted Street.
Chef Liz Sweeney, culinary instructor at The Illinois Institute of Art—Chicago, was interviewed on WGN-AM to discuss the partnership.
The Center on Halsted has worked with The Illinois Institute of Art—Chicago for many years. Its senior services program offers health fairs and affordable meals to the senior LGBT community year-round.
