No One Is Hiding: Reflections From Hidden Figures In Fashion’s History

Johnathan Hayden, fashion instructor, The Art Institute of Dallas, a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design, was recently featured in the Huffington Post for his story, “No One Is Hiding: Reflections From Hidden Figures In Fashion’s History."

Hayden’s article focuses on African Americans whose clothing and designs made a significant impact in fashion—from Rosa Parks to Eric Gaskins. “The idea of exploring hidden figures both new and experienced in fashion is an opportunity to discover powerful stories,” he writes. “American fashion has a unique past unlike any other that is a legitimate gauge of the equality promised in this country.”
