Colorado’s Terry Maker’s Work on Exhibit at Fulginiti Pavilion
December 21, 2016
Terry Maker, instructor, The Art Institute of Colorado, was featured in The Denver Post regarding her solo exhibit at the Fulginiti Pavilion gallery on the Anschutz Medical Campus at The University of Colorado, 13001 E 17th Place, Aurora, Colorado.
The exhibit titled “Time Release” is an abstract look at modern medicine. It shows pills, enlarged to a diameter of five feet, constructed from shredded paper and actual prescription warnings. The artwork encourages viewers to look at the limits of medications—including issues of dependency and necessity.
Maker has taught foundation courses at The Art Institute of Colorado for nearly 20 years. She is a celebrated artist particularly known for her contemporary sculptures and installation work. The show is open through February 16, 2017.
