Leeroy Jenkins
The Art Institute of Colorado will hold a gaming panel titled “Leeroy Jenkins and the Pals for Life.” The event, scheduled for Monday, October 16, 2017 from 5-6:30 PM in the school’s Penthouse, will focus on massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) etiquette and how it’s changed viral videos.

Ben Schulz, creator of the popular World of Warcraft (WoW) character Leeroy Jenkins, will participate in the panel alongside members of the Pals for Life guild. Jay Peteranetz, Media Arts Program Chair for The Art Institute of Colorado, will moderate the panel.

Schulz’s meteoric rise to fame in 2005 came after a video featuring Leeroy Jenkins’ rowdy behavior in World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor went viral. WoW is the creation of Blizzard Entertainment. Schulz has made numerous appearances at Blizzard Entertainment events, such as BlizzCon, and is a voice actor. Pals for Life, which currently has 93 members, is a guild with a long history of end-game raiding.

The panel will also talk about the popularity of streaming services and what to expect from them in the future. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session. The Art Institute of Colorado is located at 1200 Lincoln St., Denver, CO 80203. RSVPs are not required to attend.
