When preparing to graduate, every Fashion Design student at an Art Institutes school shows their line in a fashion show for peers and potential employers.

For 10 Art Institute of New York City students and alums, their venue this fall is one of the most high-profile events in fashion—Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

In February 2014, students from more Art Institutes schools will show their fall lines at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. We’ll be covering their stories, too.

As they prepare for the event, students and alumni talk about their work and inspiration.

Final Preparations for Fashion Week

At last, our designers see their collections come to life. But the pressure is on as they finalize their garments before Fashion Week, just days away.

We asked three designers—Daniel, Darhel, and Luz—to talk about this hectic phase of the process. Faculty weigh in, too, on the challenges our designers are facing (not unlike those shared by famous designers as they prepare their final collections for the runway).
