The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Supports “Fashion Funds The Cure” The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Supports “Fashion Funds The Cure”

For the 5th year in a row, students working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Marketing & Management at The Art Institute of Tampa, a branch of Miami International University of Art & Design, assisted at “Fashion Funds the Cure.” The students worked backstage, dressing models and preparing fashions for the runway. The annual fundraiser benefits The Pediatric Cancer Foundation and took place April 30, 2016 at the Cruise Ship Port at Channelside in Tampa.

A group of young cancer patients and survivors modeled children’s fashions, exemplifying courage, hope and strength—and making the event all the more memorable.

The Pediatric Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding research to eliminate childhood cancer. Their focus is to fund research to find less toxic, more targeted therapies by partnering with leading hospitals nationwide.

In addition to the professional models, the fashion show featured national and local celebrity models, including professional sports team members from the Tampa Bay Rays and television personality Giuliana Rancic, who was the guest emcee.
