Ai Fort Lauderdale Team Effectiveness Class Culminates With Read Aloud at Local Elementary School

Students from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s Team Effectiveness class (COM1442) visited Bennett Elementary School (BES) on June 4 for a read aloud program with BES students. The trip to Bennett Elementary was the culminating event in the course which is designed to improve team communications.

Ai Fort Lauderdale students worked throughout the spring quarter to design the program which is meant to assist elementary-aged students understand complex themes communicated in writing. Ai Fort Lauderdale students created a presentation and read Shel Silverstein’s “The Giving Tree” with BES students before engaging them in a creative project.

Bennett Elementary School

Ai Fort Lauderdale Team Effectiveness course allows students to study the required communication skills for effective discussion to achieve positive outcomes within formal and informal groups. This course focuses on problem solving, decision making, leadership, and interpersonal communication within small groups.

This is the fifth consecutive year AIFL students have hosted read aloud workshops with elementary students from Broward County Public School.
