With over 60 entries, 18 films were selected by the four Ai Fort Lauderdale alumni judges as finalists. The audience enjoyed over 75 minutes of professionally crafted commercials, music videos, animations, content marketing promotions, documentaries and narrative shorts.
The event kicked off with a Red Carpet and refreshment hour at 6pm on Friday, December 1, 2017. Soon after the crowd entered the campus theater and watched the finalists. Awards were presented throughout the night and during the finale the crowd got to vote for their favorite film through an interactive website.
Category winners included Larkland "Alex" Burton, Ingrid Da Silva, Kris Rodriguez, Mariana Lopez-Fonseca, Gio Aramendiz, and Juan "Wonka" Hernandez, students from the Bachelor of Science Digital Filmmaking & Video Production program. They received engraved trophies with Alex, Ingrid, and Kris walking away with the Audience Favorite Award of the night—the Cinema Guild Muse statuette.

The event was sponsored by Tartarus Creative Brian Lab with support from several local businesses and The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
