Dr. Carla Sizer Celebrates The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s Newest Graduates

Dr. Carla Sizer, U.S. Air Force retired, currently a program manager of cryptographic systems for the Air Force, presents the keynote address during The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s fall Commencement.
Commencement is preceded by the quarterly Portfolio Show, in which the soon-to-be graduates present their best work for review by potential employers.

Dr. Sizer retired from the United States Air Force in 2008 after 21+ years of honorable military service. Her last military duty station was assistant professor in the management department at the U.S. Air Force Academy, where she taught fundamentals of management, organizational behavior and human resource management to Air Force cadets. She was also the officer in charge of the Harvard Business School's Summer Ventures in Management Program, and served as executive officer to the commander and department head. After her retirement, Dr. Sizer worked as a consultant/program manager for the Department of Defense at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, where she managed space control sensors in Norway. Most recently, she relocated from Colorado Springs to San Antonio with her family and is now a program manager of cryptographic systems for the U.S. Air Force.
Dr. Sizer graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, in 1997, with a B.S. in healthcare management. She earned her master of public administration from Georgia College and State University in 1998, and completed her doctorate in management and organizational leadership from the University of Phoenix in 2008. Dr. Sizer also holds professional certifications in Program Management/Acquisitions and Contracting.
Dr. Sizer's academic accomplishments include publication in the International Journal of Knowledge, Culture and Change Management, speaking engagements, and keynote addresses. She most recently completed a chapter in collaboration with Dr. Claude Toland entitled “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Fighting the Battle Within,” for the book, “Attitudes Aren't Free: Thinking Deeply About Diversity in the U.S. Armed Forces.” Dr. Sizer also collaborated with Dr. Jon Westover in the book “Examining Job Satisfaction: Causes, Outcomes, and Comparative Differences.”
