Anti-Bullying Video Team

According to StopBullying.gov, nearly 49% of children in grades 4–12 state that they’ve been bullied by schoolmates. To help combat this problem, members of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s Team Media Production class recently partnered with National Voices for Equality, Education and Enlightenment (NVEEE) to produce an anti-bullying promotional and fundraising video campaign.

The Team Media students were involved in the campaign from start to finish—scripting, shooting, designing, and editing the video. Two current students, Kevin K. Wainscott and Christian Daniel Obando, recently traveled to Washington D.C. with NVEEE staffers and 35 student volunteers to meet with President Obama and Florida Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. They enjoyed breakfast at the White House and attended two anti-bullying pep rallies at District of Columbia schools. Wainscott and Obando are working toward a Bachelor of Science in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production.

The Team Media class at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale is a multi-disciplined course comprised of students working toward degrees in the areas of Video Production, Digital Filmmaking & Video Production, Visual Effects, and Photography.  They completed the first of three anti-bullying videos in December 2016 and are currently working to complete the final two.

NVEEE is a Broward-based, national organization founded to prevent bullying, violence, and suicide among youth, families and communities through direct service, mentoring and prevention education.
