Fort Lauderdale Adjunct Fashion Instructor, Karina Gomez Herrera, named Hispanic Woman of Distinction

Karina Gomez Herrera, Adjunct Fashion Instructor at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, was recently named among the winners of the 2017 Hispanic Women of Distinction Award for her fashion consulting business, Karnna Fashion Lab and her avid fight against domestic violence via her foundation, Designers & Creative Teams Against Domestic Violence.  

The Hispanic Women of Distinction awards honors the contributions of Hispanic women from South Florida. It’s been presented annually since 2001 by Bank of America in partnership with Latina Style Magazine.

Gomez has been teaching at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale since 2015. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design from the school in 2014. She went on to earn a Master of Art in Design & Media Management from Miami International University of Art & Design in 2015. Besides her recent accolade, Gomez was also featured in the March 2017 issue of Pompano Magazine.
