The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Announces CIDA Accreditation for its BS Program
September 23, 2015
The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale announces that the Council on Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) has granted re-accreditation to The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s Bachelor of Science program in Interior Design. For over 35 years, CIDA has been an independent, non-profit accrediting organization for interior design education programs at colleges and universities in the United States and Canada.
“CIDA accreditation is the benchmark for professional programs in interior design, so this is an honor for the college and is a meaningful credential for our students,” said Interior Design Program Coordinator, Catherine Pliess. The CIDA Commission’s decisions were based on the interior design program’s demonstrated achievement of 16 accreditation standards, which are evaluated within the context and overarching purpose and intent of the program.
CIDA is recognized as a reliable authority on interior design education and professional level programs by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The final decision on accreditation by CIDA’s Accreditation Commission is listed on the CIDA website.
The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale’s Bachelor of Science in Interior Design program can be completed in as little as 12 quarters* and provides students with the professional-level preparation to become practicing interior designers.
