Institutional Accreditation

The Art Institute of Houston, including its branch campuses — The Art Institute of Austin, and The Art Institute of San Antonio, is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate and baccalaureate degrees. Programmatic Accreditation

The interior design program leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design is accredited by the Council of Interior Design Accreditation, www.accredit-id.org, 206 Grandville Avenue, Suite 350, Grand Rapids, Ml, 49503.

The CIDA-accredited program prepares students for entry-level interior design practice, for advanced study, and to apply for membership in professional interior design organizations. The BFA in Interior Design granted by The Art Institute of Houston meets the educational requirement for eligibility to sit for the National Council for Interior Design Qualification Examination (NCIDQ Exam). Program Licensure

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in interior design is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation, and as such, meets the educational requirements for licensure in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. Students seeking licensure in interior design are recommended to confirm all requirements with the state of their choice.

State Licensing

The Art Institute of Houston, The Art Institute of Austin, and The Art Institute of San Antonio hold Certificates of Authorization acknowledging exemption from Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board regulations.

These schools are all authorized under Federal Law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.
