The African Fashion Week Houston event took place from September 18-24, 2017, featuring local, international and aspiring designers.

This year's theme, Making the Connection, continues the organization's mission to be innovative and share traditions of African inspired fashions.

Offering the opportunity for real runway experience and exposure, African Fashion Week Houston provided the stage on the final evening of the week for student designs of pret-a-porter and streetwear looks to be presented.

Says student Arielle Griffin,
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design, “Houston is in love with cultural diversity and African Fashion Week Houston brings it home every year.”
