Eduardo Martinez, who in 2015 earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of Houston, was asked by Budweiser (via a local agency) to create artwork for a limited edition can for Houston Astros. “Budweiser contacted me directly through email via another agency back in October 2016. [The product] was finally produced in March 2017,” says Eduardo.

He adds that the request was not for a competition—Budweiser was seeking local artists to represent their hometown team. Artists were found via online sites such Behance portfolio and Instagram. On opening day for the Houston Astros, Eduardo was interviewed, appeared on TV, and signed screen-printed posters of his artwork for fans. He was compensated for his work, received tickets to Astros game, VIP invitations, gifts, and free products from Budweiser for 6 months. “There are currently two billboards of my artwork next to the freeways,” he adds.

In addition to his work for Budweiser, Eduardo also created a design for Houston’s Torchy’s Tacos, in collaboration with the Astros baseball team.
