Chef Small Continues to Reach for the Stars
Quarter over quarter Chef Elaine Small has invited successful Culinary alumni, including Chef Charles Clark of Clark Cooper Concepts, campus professionals such as members of the Student Services and Campus Relations teams, and industry professionals into the classroom to give students that extra boost of motivation and inspiration.
Most recently, Chef Small engaged a summer camp class from Cook Learn Grow, an educational program focused on food literacy, through fun, hands-on curriculum and programming. Elementary students from the camp enjoyed making cookie dough and decorating them after baking.
This week she proudly welcomes Houston’s most recent James Beard Award Winner and longtime friend of The Art Institute of Houston, Chef Hugo Ortega. Chef Ortega recently named The Art Institute of Houston 2013 Culinary Arts, AAS graduate, Beatriz Martinez, as Corporate Chef to the H Town Restaurant Group. To read more click here.
