Houston Diversity Month

By: The Art Institutes

March 29, 2018

The City of Houston selected artwork submitted by Cydnei Holts, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic & Web Design student at The Art Institute of Houston, to be featured as the banner on the Houston Diversity Month Twitter page and on the Houston Diversity Month web page

April 2018 is Houston’s first observation of Diversity Month, intended as a time to showcase the city’s vibrant diversity and bring together people of all backgrounds to share diverse cultures and heritages, exchange knowledge and ideas, and celebrate the core social values of inclusiveness, respect, and equal opportunity.

According to a recent proclamation by the mayor, “Houston is the most diverse city in the United States, where more than 145 languages are spoken and one of every four residents are from a foreign country of origin.” The proclamation also highlighted Houston’s rich arts communities and impressive culinary scene.

Cydnei will be honored on April 3, 2018, at Houston Diversity Month’s Kick-off Ceremony where Mayor Sylvester Turner will be present.
