French Designer Comes to Houston
November 7, 2017
Parisian Maxime de Laurentis has an impressive resume. After 2 years of designing menswear for Yves Saint Laurent and 5 years designing menswear for Maison Martin Margiela, de Laurentis turned his attention to traveling the world as a couture and archival designer runway dealer—always searching for that perfect garment for his clients or his personal collection.
Most recently, Maxime de Laurentis debuted his vintage runway collection in Houston at local antiquarian interior design house, M. Naeve, on November 2, 2017.
As part of his visit to Houston and prior to the invitation-only reception, de Laurentis welcomed students from The Art Institute of Houston for a private viewing and Meet & Greet. Students were wowed by the attention to details, creativity, and provocative visions of the fashion houses that his collection represents. de Laurentis graciously answered questions from our aspiring designers, while offering up little-known brand tidbits and the design focus of Maison Martin Margiela.
Maxime de Laurentis hopes to get back to Houston next year and we are looking forward to it.
Getting up close and personal with a designer of this caliber? C’est incroyable!
