Hollywood Director Visits The Art Institute of Houston

(Houston, November 2015) On October 27, The Art Institute of Houston hosted director Marcus Nispel on campus. Nispel is the director of Friday the 13th (2009) and Conan the Barbarian (2011). In addition, faculty and students attended Horrorthon 2015 at the Edwards Houston Marq’e Stadium. Horrorthon included a screening of NIspel’s new movie Exeter, a surprise showing of the original Nightmare on Elm Street and a short film by Joseph Long, a 2015 graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production..

Through a raffle drawing, Alee Mekkaoui (in the attached photo), a student in the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Filmmaking & Video Production degree program, was chosen to play a small part in the next film directed by Damir Catic of Regal Entertainment.
