School Holds Workshop Featuring James Beard Award Winning Chef

On February 3, 2016, The Art Institute of Houston held a Butcher Workshop featuring Chef Chris Shepherd. Chef Shepherd earned an Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts from The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Houston in 1996. He’s a James Beard Award Winner and owner of Underbelly and Hay Merchant Restaurants in Houston.
The workshop included an exclusive kitchen tour. Chef Shepherd also talked about his farm-to-table and whole animal approach to culinary arts. Finally, participants had the opportunity to witness filleting of two kinds of fish.
