The Art Institute of Houston Offers Real World Design Opportunities to Students
August 10, 2016
Zack Zwicky, a graphic design instructor at The Art Institute of Houston, is overseeing three partnerships that provide opportunities for students to gain real world industry experience.
The partners are the Houston Bar Association, Texas Wolfdog Project & Shelter, and Yaga’s Entertainment, Inc.
The Houston Bar Association (HBA) is asking students to join a logo design competition to support the 32nd annual HBA John J. Eikenburg Law Week Fun Run. The HBA will be on campus to discuss design guidelines, then return to talk with students about their logo drafts. A committee will select the winning logo, which is used on all race materials and HBA publications.
The Texas Wolfdog Project & Shelter gives students the opportunity to take photos of the shelter’s furry friends. And this year, it’s asking students for help in designing a new wine bottle label for its partner organization, Cork This! Winery.
The final project involves the creation of the annual Mardi Gras poster for Yaga’s Entertainment.
