By having small classes, I really got to know my teachers on a first name basis and capitalize on their knowledge. Their networks within the community were, and continue to be, invaluable resources. Reema Farra Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design, 2007 , The Art Institute of Houston
Reema Farra is working as an interior designer at McCoy Inc. in Houston, overseeing projects, meeting with salespeople and clients, space planning, and designing interior office spaces. She also creates presentations and checks specs prior to order. When her day ends at McCoy, she begins her self-employed work at Darke Media Group where she creates interactive books. She is responsible for all aspects of the books, including writing, editing, creating interactive features, graphics, branding, and marketing.
Reema is proud to have won First Place at CET Configura’s national conference in the category of Best Success Story. She is also excited to own her own company and to have published two books, Phantom Hearts Part 1 & 2. “As a designer, I’m always starting with a blank page or blank room. I love seeing my ideas come to life, whether it’s an installation or a printed book. The joy of havinga beautiful product and seeing others enjoy your work is priceless,” she says.
Reema, who in 2007 earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from The Art Institute of Houston, says that her instructors provided valuable experience by bringing real-world knowledge into the classroom. “By having small classes, I really got to know my teachers on a first name basis and capitalize on their knowledge. Their networks within the community were, and continue to be, invaluable resources.”
