Futuristic Fashion Hits the Runway
March 2, 2015
Futuristic fashions, created with recycled garments, bottle caps, vinyl and leather, will take to the runway as part of The Art Institute of Indianapolis’ 6th Annual Fashion Show. 25 students in the Bachelor of Science in Fashion Design degree program will present designs in women’s wear, men’s wear, stretch, corsets, senior collections, and the special segment, “Futuarism.” Along with the fashion show, students in the Bachelor of Science in Fashion & Retail Management degree program will display their Stylist Projects. These projects are themed concept boards that use images and artifacts to support the theme.

The fashion show will be produced entirely by students from the Event and Fashion Show Production class. The students were responsible for model call selections, model fittings, show line-up, marketing materials, VIP party, among a host of other tasks and responsibilities required to get the show off the ground. It is truly a collaborative effort, which gives students a taste of what it’s like to work in the fashion world after graduation.
