Backstage Peek at the Children's Museum Pop Culture Fashion Show
Fashion Design (BS) students from The Art Institute of Indianapolis showcased their class designs Friday night at the Pop Culture exhibit opening at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum https://www.childrensmuseum.org/. Students created 22 fashion designs based on various pop culture icons.
The best part of the show was behind the scenes in the dressing room. The stress and excitement were palpable. Student designers made last-minute adjustments to fit their designs to their models while make-up artists added touch-ups. A model pulled off a foot sock so she could shove her foot into a shoe with a 4” heel. People were laughing, joking, and offering last-minute opinions. Faculty gave instructions and focused students on main points. A model busted out a dance move while waiting in the runway line. Pride was evident. For some this would be their last project before graduation.
