The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire Hosts Jolly Holiday
December 20, 2016
The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire, a campus of Argosy University, recently hosted the second annual Jolly Holiday (Little Chefs Holiday Academy) on campus.
The event celebrated the children and families of the Childhood Cancer Foundation of Southern California (located in Loma Linda, California). It’s designed to bring a smile to a family and a child to help celebrate the holidays and for a moment forget about the cancer and treatments.
Jolly Holiday took place in the school’s kitchen, hallways, and several rooms. Each was filled with activities, refreshments, games and more for guests and their families.
There was cookie decorating with the culinary department, including gluten free options for those with allergies. Student Services teamed up to create crafts for the attendees and a group of students become carolers singing holiday favorites and bringing smiles to the kids’ faces.
There were several photo booth areas and various activities from different departments—and a visit from special guest, Santa himself.
Culinary students created many treats, including Sacher tortes, fruit tarts, eclairs, and brownies—and even stayed to serve the guests. In addition to staff, faculty, and students, alums also served as volunteers during the event.
