The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire, a campus of Argosy University, welcomed three design professionals to an alumni panel hosted by faculty member Dr. John Luer and our design instruction team.

The event featured alumni from our Bachelor of Science in Graphic & Web Design program who are currently employed in design roles at Esri. The participating alumni included:

● Derick Mendoza, 2015 graduate
● Lynnie Joseph, 2016 graduate
● Julio Ochoa, 2011 graduate

Before the portfolio review, the alumni offered tips, insight, and analysis on what it’s like in the professional graphic design and advertising industry. The alumni and students brought much enthusiasm and energy to the event. The alumni provided helpful advice and strong constructive criticism on each student’s portfolio, and the students left rejuvenated, with increased motivation to pursue their passion.

Headquartered in Redlands, California, Esri (originally Environmental Systems Research Institute) is an international developer and supplier of geographic information system (GIS) applications, including mapping and spatial analytics software. Esri software is used by the government as well as in manufacturing, utilities, and various commercial organizations.

Ai California—Inland Empire and Esri have previously teamed up on several initiatives including past portfolio reviews, internship programs, workshops, and on-site tours. Esri maintains a rapport with our faculty and has hosted a number of Ai interns, introducing students to various career opportunities in design, technology, and GIS.

Ai California—Inland Empire is grateful for our alumni continuing to support our school and our students, and we are so proud of everything they have accomplished and continue to achieve in their professional roles.
