The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire, a campus of Argosy University, recently hosted the 11-99 California Highway Patrol’s (CHP) Foundation Scholarship event in partnership with the California Highway Patrol’s Inland Division.

Event attendees were treated to an Italian buffet created by the culinary department. The menu consisted of spaghetti with bolognese sauce, meatballs, fettuccini alfredo with grilled chicken, Caesar salad bread sticks, and cupcakes.

The foundation was created by Bob Weinberg to provide emergency benefits to California Highway Patrol employees and their families in times of crisis. Since its inception, the foundation has distributed more than $31 million in assistance to current, retired and Fallen in the Line of Duty CHP employees and their families.

The scholarship was launched in 1984. In order to qualify for a scholarship, applicants must have a connection to the CHP and must submit an essay.
