The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire, a campus of Argosy University, recently organized a fundraiser for the San Bernardino Animal Shelter. Five fashion students were given the assignment to create a fundraising drive that would bring needed food, blankets, and community awareness to the “adopt don’t shop” campaign.

The students collaborated with the San Bernardino Police Department. Sherlock, the community affairs K9 was on hand for picture opportunities to help rally the community around adoption awareness. The students were responsible for all advertising and social marketing for the on-campus program.

Collection boxes were placed on campus, and in five weeks’ time were filled with 545 pounds of dog food, 66 pounds of cat food, 50 pet blankets (many sewn by the students themselves), toys, and treats for the cats and dogs.

The students delivered the supplies and blankets to the San Bernardino Animal Shelter on December 6, 2017. The San Bernardino Animal Shelter and the pets were thankful for donations and the message of adopting a furry friend during this special time of the year.
