The Art Institute of California—Inland Empire, a campus of Argosy University, (Ai California—Inland Empire) will participate in and sponsor parts of San Bernardino Art Night, set to take place in Downtown San Bernardino on April 21-22, 2017.

San Bernardino Art Night will feature a series of pop-up galleries highlighting the creative talent of local artists and schools. For this event, Ai California—Inland Empire is sponsoring the Chalk Walk, where event attendees can show off their chalk drawing skills, as well as the Live Street Art Painting session that will showcase
Bachelor of Science in Graphic & Web Design student Ivan Preciado conducting the live painting of a mural. Preciado’s piece will invite community members to take a hands-on painting approach and contribute to the painting. The finished creation will be housed at the City Hall as a community piece.

Ai California—Inland Empire has also teamed up with the San Bernardino Police Department to create a “Soul of San Bernardino” video, which includes dancers from the SB area and surrounding cities dancing to spoken words. One of the speakers is 2013 Bachelor of Science in Graphic & Web Design alumnus, Juan Garcia Ruiz, the graphic designer behind the “SB Strong” logo created in memorial of the December 2 attacks. Ruiz is an active alum who lives and works in San Bernardino and is often in the community speaking about the arts as well as Ai California—Inland Empire.

San Bernardino Art Night is designed to encourage creative thinking, stimulate conversation, inspire artists, and enliven the downtown community through art, music, and entertainment. Events include live musical and dance performances, poetry readings, live street painting, chalk walk, artist and vendor booths, food trucks, and more. The second annual San Bernardino Art Night is free to attend and is a family-friendly event. For more information, visit
