The Art Institute of California – Inland Empire Hosts “The World of Breads”

The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California – Inland Empire will present an exhibit, “The World of Breads,” and host an opening reception on October 13 at 6:30 p.m. featuring Pastry Chef and Instructor Laurent Baillon.
Chef Baillon inherited a passion for food and cooking skills naturally having grown up in a restaurant family in Normandy, France. He received formal training at the School of Pastry and Bread at Dieppe, France and worked in Paris as pastry chef and cook at the Auberge du 14 Juillet. He has served as Executive Chef at Neiman Marcus, Beverly Hills, Le Marin and Marina City Club in Marina Del Rey, and Morongo Casino.
In addition to his classes at The Art Institute of California— Inland Empire, Chef Laurent works as a private chef for clients in the Los Angeles and Riverside areas, teaches specialty classes at The Cooking Store in Riverside, and enjoys collecting antique chocolate molds, vintage terrines, and cookbooks, all of which he enthusiastically shares with his students.
Chef James Kellenberger, The Art Institute of California – Inland Empire culinary academic director and guest curator, said the exhibit will focus on the different creations and designs of breads of the world. Guests attending the reception will be able to sample various breads and meet the chef as well as have the opportunity to purchase breads and pastries for the holidays, with all proceeds going to the school’s scholarship fund.
The public is also welcome to visit the exhibit Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for free.
