Students working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design at The Art Institute of Las Vegas recently participated in the 2017 “Little Black Dress” event, presented by the Las Vegas Fashion Council. “Little Black Dress” gave students the opportunity to use their knowledge of creative design, draping, pattern making, construction, sewing, and organizational skills to execute a project. It also provided valuable, real-world experience.

Current student Salvador Aceves earned a $500.00 scholarship award at the event. The dress that he created had elements of retro and romanticism.

Participating students included:

•        Salvador Aceves
•        Martha Aispuro
•        Dianna Aufdermauer
•        Meliza Bautista
•        Aliya Brown
•        Kelsey Collins
•        Ja’Reah Crowder
•        Jheri Foster
•        Flor de Liz Guior
•        Jasmine Moore
