The Art Institute of Las Vegas Culinary Director Takes Culinary Tour of Italy

(Las Vegas, October 2015) On September 27, 2015, Chef James Paul from The Art Institute of Las Vegas, a branch of The Art Institute of Phoenix, joined culinary faculty from The Art Institutes system of schools across North America to participate in the Umbira Study Tour of Italy, presented by Universita Dei Sapori (UDS) National Center for Culinary Education and Culture and Umbria Trade Agency. Along with experiencing the culinary culture Italy, the trip also strengthened The Art Institutes’ relationship with UDS.
The Umbria study tour was a 4-day tour that introduced participants to the products and foods of Italy. The tour began at the historical center of Perugia, then onto Scheggino, a tiny town crossed by a maze of charming narrow streets, then to the small town of Trev1 for a workshop on the production and transformation of Protected Designation of Origin (D.O.P), and then onto Florence for a guided tour of the historical center. The remaining two days were dedicated on visiting the Expo Milan 2015.
