You've got to learn how to vibe alone. You can't live your life being dependent on other sources of energy. You have the ability to be self-sufficient, so tap yourself every once in a while. Jamalat Larach Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design, , Miami International University of Art & Design Global Campus

Jamalat Larach was born on March 27, 1995 in the city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras where she lived throughout her childhood and young adulthood. She attended “Escuela Internacional Sampedrana,” one of the top bilingual schools in the country. Her passion for art and design led her to attend the Miami International University of Art & Design, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design. In addition to her passion for interior design, Jamalat has always found inspiration and enthusiasm for the visual arts, of which she has dabbled in since she was a young girl.

Her interest and passion in the arts led her to be selected to participate as a youth agent for “Marca Pais Honduras,” a campaign dedicated to promoting travel and tourism through a focus on beauty through culture, art, and global friendships for her native country. The nature of that international experience catapulted Jamalat into interning for Living in Space, a prominent interior design firm in London in the fall of 2016. She then continued her pursuit in the interior design field where she became the Lead Designer for one of the most renowned Interior Design firms in Miami, providing her with the very unique experience to express her passion for design through some of the most luxurious homes in Miami.

Jamalat’s success in the interior design field provided a format for her to continue to explore her love of visual arts, creating unique pieces of mixed media art as a form of self-expression. After much motivation from family and friends, she formed a collection of six limited edition art pieces, two of which were selected for the temporary exhibition at Art-Shopping Carrousel du Louvre at the world-famous Louvre Museum in Paris. A second collection is already in the planning stages as this young artist continues to evolve. "This is a quote I follow a lot—'You got to learn how to vibe alone. You can't live your life being dependent on other sources of energy. You have the ability to be self-sufficient, so tap yourself every once in a while.'"
