Recently, fashion students form Miami International University of Art & Design participated in the Locales Festival where they were tasked with recreating garments out of donated clothes from famed fashion retailer, Century 21.

Century 21 recently opened a store in South Florida and provided nearly 200 pieces of clothing for the students to work with. Fashion students created updated and trend-setting looks that were then showcased by models on the main festival stage. The final garments will be donated to a local non-profit.

Additionally, students from the school’s Fashion Merchandising programs were tasked with creating an exhibit out of shopping bags. The exhibit was displayed in the school’s event booth, as part of the visual merchandising challenge.
