Miami Grad, Army Vet Hired as Designer for Under Armour’s Men’s Fleece Line

Damar Fairbanks, who in 2009 earned an Associate of Arts in Fashion Design from Miami International University of Art & Design, was recently hired as a designer for Under Armour’s men’s fleece line. 


Fairbanks’ design career began as an apprentice with Club Monaco in New York City where he learned the skills and craft of the sportswear industry, working with denim and tailoring. Damar has worked as lead designer for the Ben Hogan Signature Brand owned by Perry Ellis International. He‘s also worked for various major fashion brands such as Lucky Brand, Fruit of the Loom, and Belk Department store. Damar has been featured in “Emerging Fashion Designers Vol 1” book authored by Sally Congdon-Martin (2010). Prior to his career in fashion, Damar served for five years in the United States Army.
