The deadline for registering to enter The Art Institutes Best Teen Chef Competition for high school seniors or The Art Institutes Culinary Scholarship Competition for high school graduates is just a few weeks away on February 3, 2012.

The two culinary competitions offer budding chefs the opportunity to match their skills against others who share their passion – and to earn a tuition scholarship to one of The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes.

Each participating Art Institutes school will name one first place winner in each category. A second place winner will also be named in the Best Teen Chef category at each participating Art Institutes school.

The winners will earn tuition scholarships – $4,000 for the Best Teen Chef winner and $1,000 for the second place winner in the high school senior category, and $1,500 for the first place winner of the high school graduate category.

To be eligible to enter the competitions, entrants must submit an Entry & Release Form by February 3, 2012, to The Art Institutes location of their choice. Deadline for completed entries into the competitions is February 24, 2012. Selected entrants will progress to Local Cook-Off Competitions at The International Culinary Schools at The Art Institutes on April 21, 2012.

As the 2008 Best Teen Chef Competition winner Jonathan Miller says, “There’s really nothing to lose. At the end of the day there’s only the chance to better yourself.”
